ABOUT THE ROLE
Are you friendly, confident, and looking for an exciting job in the heart of downtown Arlington Heights? Scratchboard Kitchen is hiring Hosts to join our team at one of the most fun and popular farm-to-table restaurants in the area.
As a host, you’ll be the first face our guests see and one of the most important parts of their experience. You’ll greet and seat guests with a smile, help manage reservations, and make sure our dining room stays clean and welcoming. If you enjoy working with people and want to be part of a positive, energetic team, this could be a great fit.
We’re open Tuesday through Sunday for brunch and dinner, with both morning and evening shifts available.

What You’ll Do
Greet guests warmly and confidently from the moment they walk in
Manage reservations and walk-ins using our system (we’ll teach you how to use TOCK)
Seat guests thoughtfully to create a smooth and enjoyable experience for everyone
Keep the front entrance and dining room clean, tidy, and welcoming
Answer basic questions about our food and drinks
Work closely with your teammates and communicate clearly with the service team
Stay positive, helpful, and friendly throughout your shift
Live our Scratchboard values and help create a great atmosphere for our guests
Requirements
Available to work Friday and Saturday evenings, Saturday and Sunday mornings, and holidays
Strong communication and people skills
Friendly attitude and willingness to learn
Comfortable being on your feet and moving around during shifts
Neat and professional appearance
Bonus Points (Not Required, we will train the right person)
Experience working in a restaurant or retail setting
Familiarity with reservation systems like TOCK
Interest in food, coffee, or hospitality

Compensation Details
Compensation: Hourly ($15.00 - $16.00)
