Role: Busser
Location: New York City (One Fifth)
Status: Full-time, Non-Exempt
Reports to: General Manager, Assistant General Manager, Floor Manager, and Beverage Director
Position Summary
The Busser plays a critical role in ensuring seamless service at Golden Steer NYC. You’ll support the service team by keeping tables, stations, and the dining room clean, polished, and guest-ready at all times. With urgency, attention to detail, and a team-first mindset, you will help maintain the timeless steakhouse experience that Golden Steer is known for.
Key Responsibilities
- Guest Support: Reset tables quickly and precisely, ensuring all place settings meet Golden Steer standards.
- Cleanliness & Organization: Keep dining areas, service stations, and sidework zones clean and stocked throughout service.
- Service Assistance: Deliver bread, water, and additional items as directed by servers; help run food when needed.
- Team Collaboration: Support servers, runners, and managers by anticipating needs and stepping in without being asked.
- Efficiency & Urgency: Move quickly without sacrificing detail, especially during peak hours.
- Hospitality: Greet guests warmly and assist in making the dining room feel welcoming and polished.

Experience & Qualifications (Must-Haves)
- 1+ years of experience as a busser, food runner, or support role in a high-volume restaurant preferred.
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and attention to detail.
- Ability to work as part of a team and communicate clearly with servers and managers.
- Commitment to cleanliness, sanitation, and guest service.
- English required; Spanish a plus.
Operations & Compliance
- Follow NYC DOH sanitation standards and allergy protocols.
- Execute sidework and reset checklists with precision.
Teamwork & Culture
- Arrive on time and prepared; stay engaged and proactive throughout the shift.
- Support training of new team members in bussing and reset standards.
- Represent Golden Steer with professionalism and hospitality in all interactions.
Physical & Scheduling Requirements
- Stand and move quickly for 8–10 hours.
- Lift and carry up to 40 lbs.
- Nights, weekends, and holidays required.
Compensation & Benefits
