Café Mado is the latest venture from Redwood Hospitality, the group behind Oxalis and Place des Fêtes. Nestled on Washington Avenue, Café Mado is an embodiment of our passion for creating spaces that serve exceptional fare and cultivate community.

Our story begins with a nod to the legendary Mado, the matron of the three-Michelin Star restaurant La Pyramide in Vienne, France. Inspired by her dedication and hospitality, Café Mado aspires to bring a slice of that storied elegance and warmth to our neighborhood.

Café Mado occupies an important space within our company's history, opening in the very location where our restaurant Oxalis was awarded its Michelin Star. As Oxalis embarks on a new chapter, Café Mado will open in its place, promising to continue the tradition of excellence that has become synonymous with Redwood Hospitality. Our location is a stone’s throw away from some of Brooklyn’s most beloved landmarks, including the Brooklyn Museum, Brooklyn Botanic Garden, and Prospect Park. Whether you’re a local resident or a visitor exploring the charms of Brooklyn, Café Mado is your perfect pit stop for a morning coffee, a leisurely lunch, or a sweet treat.

Cafe Mado will welcome the day with freshly brewed coffee with a selection of fine pastries from our newly opened Laurel Bakery, along with breakfast sandwiches prepared for those on the go. As the day unfolds, our backyard atrium opens for a serene spot for a seated lunch, offering a casual, seasonal menu.
