We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Bakery Associate to join our team. As a Bakery Associate, you will play a crucial role in supporting our bakery operations and ensuring customer satisfaction. This is a great opportunity for beginners with a passion for the food industry and a desire to work in a fast-paced environment.
As a bakery associate, you will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following.
Customer Service: Greeting customers, assisting them with their inquiries, and providing product recommendations. They should be knowledgeable about the bakery's offerings and able to answer questions about ingredients, pricing, and special orders.
Bakery Display Maintenance: Arranging and restocking bakery items on display shelves and cases to ensure the best presentation possible. This includes properly rotating stock to maintain freshness and removing expired products.
Food Preparation: Assisting with basic food preparation tasks such as pastry tray ups for the following morning, baking off items prepared the day prior, portioning items for later use and the finishing of certain products. On occasion, bakery associates may also help with more intricate baking tasks such as mixing doughs and other scratch baking.
Cleaning and Sanitizing: Maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards in the bakery area, including cleaning display cases, countertops, and equipment. This also includes proper food handling and storage practices as well.
Inventory Management: Monitoring inventory levels of baked goods and ingredients, and notifying management when stock is running low. They may also assist with receiving deliveries and restocking shelves as needed.
Teamwork: Maintain a positive and professional attitude while collaborating with other bakery staff to ensure smooth operations and excellent customer service. Let’s have some fun!!
Requirements:
- Previous experience in the food industry or a culinary-related role is preferred
- Knowledge of baking techniques and familiarity with kitchen equipment
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow recipes accurately
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to upsell products
- Basic math skills for measuring ingredients and calculating quantities
- Physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift heavy objects (up to 50 pounds)
- Flexibility to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays as required
