Elawa Farm Foundation’s mission is to steward a historic farm that enriches greater Lake County as a
center for experiential learning to broaden access to education, nutritious food, and our local food
system. We gather community through food and agriculture with a sustainable farm, weekly market,
café, learning kitchen, farm animal program, and educational programming for youth and adults.
Private events at Elawa Farm—including weddings, corporate dinners, and weekly farm-to-table
community gatherings—support our philanthropic mission and provide guests with meaningful
experiences rooted in hospitality and community.
Position Summary
The Banquet Bartender ensures a high-quality, professional bar experience at Elawa Farm’s private and
community events. This position is responsible for preparing and serving beverages with precision,
maintaining a clean and organized bar area, and supporting the Events Team in delivering memorable
hospitality experiences.
Essential Functions
- Provide professional and engaging beverage service for weddings, corporate dinners, and community events.
- Prepare and serve cocktails, wine, beer, and non-alcoholic beverages according to event menus and guest preferences.
- Monitor guest consumption and uphold all alcohol service laws and policies.
- Manage bar setup and breakdown, including inventory, glassware, garnishes, and supplies.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked bar throughout events.
- Collaborate closely with Captains, Servers, Porters, and the Events Team to ensure seamless service and guest satisfaction.
- Assist with special requests, featured cocktails, and farm-driven beverage pairings as directed by the Events Team.
Core Competencies and Professional Qualifications
- At least 2 years of bartending experience in a banquet, catering, or restaurant environment required.
- Knowledge of classic cocktails, wine service, and beer pouring standards.
- Current BASSET or equivalent alcohol service certification required.
- Strong interpersonal and hospitality skills with a polished, professional demeanor.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining precision and attention to detail.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and event blackout dates as scheduled.
- Physical ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 lbs.
Status: Part-time, seasonal, non-exempt
Compensation: Hourly rate is $35/hour
Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; additional hospitality or service training
preferred.
