Host
Primary Duties: Receiving and seating guests, running the reservation system and guest relations.
Overview
As a host at MUSE, you are responsible for making every guest feel at home as soon as they walk through our doors. As the first and last checkpoint with guests, it is important to make sure that you say hello and goodbye to each guest, and make sure that they enjoyed their time with us. You will work closely with the service team in the pursuit of one common goal; that every guest leaves happy.
Responsibilities
- Maintaining a confident and professional presence at the door at all times
- Stocking all necessary items and tools at the host stand
- Getting the 1st name, last names, phone number and email of each guest for the registry
- Greet guests with a smile as soon as they enter the restaurant
- Recognize frequent guests and call them by their last name
- Arrange reservations for service
- Communicate the name of the party host and their position number to the server and manager
- Creating guest chits for managers, servers, and the kitchen
- Saying goodnight to each guest: Look at the guest in the eye “thank you (insert name) for joining us this evening”
- Updating the reservation system with guest information (special occasions, dietary restrictions etc.)
- Operate from “Yes” and try to accommodate special requests
- Maintenance of menus, clean and accurate
- Organize notify & wait list (when applicable)
- Communicate with kitchen & managers regarding flow of seating
- Acknowledge special occasions and alert servers & management team
- Escort guests to their tables and ensure it is to their liking
- Make menu recommendations when requested
- Input guest preferences into reservation profiles
- Politely be able to explain seating and reservation policies to guests
- Attend regularly scheduled training meetings to develop knowledge and skills
- Menu and wine knowledge
Compensation Details
Compensation: Hourly ($19.00 - $22.00)
