Cafe Knotted is a beloved dessert cafe from Seoul, founded in 2017 and known for its hand-crafted cream-filled donuts, fresh milk cream, and playful design. The brand quickly grew to over 40 locations throughout Korea, and is now open in Los Angeles at Westfield Century City and in the Arts District. Cafe Knotted offers fresh cream donuts, premium coffee, matcha drinks, cookies, and cakes. We proudly brew coffee using beans from local favorite Stereoscope Coffee and make all our matcha beverages with ceremonial grade matcha from Nekohama. Cafe Knotted is all about spreading happiness and bursting with delight — where sweetness meets a smile.
Position Overview:
Cafe Knotted is looking for a highly motivated and dedicated
Cashier and
Barista to join our growing team. We are focused on providing a welcoming environment while continuing to cultivate a warm and knowledgeable team. This job is very hands-on and requires initiative, multitasking and organization skills as well as a good eye for quality. A qualified Cashier and Barista must work well with others, have a sense of urgency as well as have:
- Passion for hospitality
- 1 or more years in the hospitality industry / cafe preferred
- Experience in a Korean cafe or bakery is a plus
Cashier/Barista responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
- Available to work flexible hours, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, nights, and/or holidays
- Responsibly open and/or close storefront in line with operation hours
- Arrive on time every day of work, clock in fully ready in appropriate attire in accordance with company uniform guidelines
- Responsibly manage one’s own time clock; break and clock in/out on time, communicate promptly with leadership when time clock error is made
- Foster a positive work culture by extending professionalism and respect to guests, fellow team members, neighbors and everyone in between
- Maintain in-depth knowledge of the menu and accurately inform guests
- Package and serve pastry orders properly in accordance with Cafe Knotted standards
- Make and present beverage orders properly in accordance with Cafe Knotted standards
- Report any quality control or inventory issues promptly to leadership
- Multitask and work multiple stations while coordinating with team members
- Maintain a clean, safe, and hygienic workspace in accordance with company policy and LA Department of Public Health guidelines
- Properly wash dishes and containers keeping stations organized
- Occasionally walk few minutes to throw trash away and/or grab inventory from storage
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions include:
- Requires moderate physical effort: standing for 6-8 hours, carrying, stretching, wrist movement, fine manipulation, grasping, pulling and pushing, lifting of weights up to 35 pounds, stooping, bending, twisting, squatting, reaching, etc.
- Requires the ability to safely and effectively use all necessary tools and equipment
- Working conditions involve noise, heat, cold, temperature changes, kitchen elements, odors, moisture, exposure to FDA-approved cleaning chemicals, etc.
- May be required to work additional hours as dictated by the workload and staffing
- Must be willing to work early mornings, nights, weekends and holidays
