The Server role at ama by Brad Kilgore is central to delivering an engaging, polished, and dynamic dining and lounge experience. ama is not only a restaurant but also a sexy, chic lounge space that blends elevated Italian-Japanese cuisine with music, craft cocktails, and a vibrant social atmosphere. Servers are expected to seamlessly balance the precision of service with the energy of a lounge environment, guiding guests through both the culinary journey and the overall vibe of the space. This position requires a strong knowledge of food, wine, cocktails, and service techniques, paired with an intuitive ability to connect with guests and create memorable moments.
Key Responsibilities:Service & Guest Engagement:

Provide refined yet approachable service, guiding guests through menu offerings including house-made pastas, crudos, binchotan-grilled dishes, and tableside elements.

Navigate and manage service in both the dining room and lounge setting, adapting tone and style of service to the environment.

Anticipate guests’ needs and deliver personalized recommendations, ensuring a sense of hospitality that feels both luxurious and welcoming.

Create memorable connections by engaging guests in storytelling about the food, beverages, and concept, while maintaining an upbeat, lounge-appropriate energy.
Beverage & Culinary Expertise:

Possess in-depth knowledge of wine pairings, Japanese spirits, Italian amaros, and signature cocktails.

Confidently promote and sell elevated beverage offerings, with attention to both dining and lounge guest preferences.

Work closely with the bar team to support cocktail service and lounge beverage flow.
Operational Excellence:

Collaborate with kitchen and bar staff to maintain smooth pacing of both multi-course dining service and lounge-style small plate offerings.

Maintain compliance with health, safety, and service standards, ensuring consistency across dining and lounge areas.

Assist with pre-shift setup, post-shift breakdown, and ensure all sections are polished, stocked, and guest-ready.

Handle guest concerns and special requests with professionalism and confidence.
Qualifications:

Minimum 3 years of service experience in upscale or elevated dining/lounge environments.

Expertise in wine, spirits, and cocktails, with a strong focus on Italian and Japanese offerings.
