Position Overview

Café Sebastian is Kilgore Hospitality Group’s all-day bistro located within the iconic Transamerica Pyramid. We are seeking a polished, professional, and service-focused Server to join our growing front-of-house team. The ideal candidate brings a passion for daytime hospitality, attention to detail, and an ability to elevate the guest experience through thoughtful service and a genuine sense of care.

This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, daytime setting and appreciates refined yet relaxed hospitality. We serve a loyal base of commercial tenants and city guests, focusing on quality food, exceptional coffee, and streamlined service during breakfast and lunch hours.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide warm, attentive, and professional service to all guests, maintaining the elevated standard of the Kilgore brand.

  • Guide guests through the menu with confidence, offering insight into daily specials, ingredients, and recommendations.

  • Collaborate with the café and kitchen teams to ensure accurate and timely service of all food and beverage items.

  • Handle all POS transactions efficiently and accurately, with a focus on closing out checks promptly.

  • Maintain full awareness of floor operations, pacing, and table turn strategies to optimize the guest flow during peak hours.

  • Ensure all tables are clean, reset, and presentable at all times.

  • Prepare and serve non-alcoholic beverages and assist with coffee service as needed.

  • Support café and event operations including light catering setups and tenant-focused activations when assigned.

  • Maintain knowledge of health and safety standards, ensuring cleanliness and sanitation of all guest and service areas.

  • Participate in daily pre-shift meetings, menu trainings, and FOH briefings.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Minimum 2 years of server experience in a fast-paced, high-quality restaurant or bistro environment.

  • Familiarity with breakfast, brunch, and lunch-style service preferred.

  • Strong communication skills and ability to work efficiently with both FOH and BOH teams.

  • Experience with POS systems and comfort with guest check management and cash handling.

  • Ability to multitask and manage time effectively under pressure.

  • Polished appearance and professionalism; punctual and team-oriented.

  • Passion for food, hospitality, and providing a memorable guest experience.

  • Ability to work early shifts and maintain a consistent schedule for morning and afternoon service.
