Bartender

We’re building something new in Wauconda — and we want bartenders who are ready to raise the bar.

Since 2015, The Side Lot has been redefining suburban bar culture with world-class technique, thoughtful storytelling, and a rebellious spirit that’s anything but ordinary. Led by restaurateur Brittany Barth and Master Mixologist + Sommelier Phil Castello, we deliver an elevated casual dining experience paired with some of the most innovative craft cocktails in the region.

Now, as we take the next step in creating something new for Wauconda, we’re looking for passionate, detail-driven bartenders to join our team — people who love the craft, thrive in a collaborative environment, and take pride in delivering unforgettable guest experiences.

• 4+ years cocktail bar experience (6+ preferred)

• Strong knowledge of cocktails, spirits, beer, and wine

• Warm, genuine service with excellent hospitality instincts

• Passion for creating memorable guest experiences

• Ability to confidently guide guests through both cocktail and food programs

• Proficiency in bar setup, breakdown, and mise en place (juices, garnishes, syrups, etc.)

• Inventory stocking and rotation

• Precision in mixing and serving cocktails to spec

• Knowledge of food & beverage menus, ingredients, and techniques

• Strong teamwork, communication, and organizational skills

• Adherence to cash handling protocols

• Provide every guest with warm, welcoming, and attentive service

• Anticipate and accommodate guest needs throughout service

• Set up the bar and maintain cleanliness and organization throughout the shift

• Confidently present and explain menus, offering thoughtful recommendations

• Contribute to the development of seasonal cocktail menus

• Accurately prepare cocktails and other beverages to standard

• Maintain expert-level knowledge of all menu items

• Execute all opening, side work, and closing duties

• Participate fully in training programs and meet performance expectations

• Perform additional tasks as assigned by management

• Full-time and part-time positions available

• Must be available evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
