Job Details
At Buttercup, you will be responsible for understanding, educating and engaging guests over bar menu items, allergies associated (if applicable) while also presenting an approachable and elevated experience by following Buttercup service standards. The server plays a crucial role in ensuring the success of service and guest satisfaction. In addition, the server collaborates with other team members and completes pre-service and post-service duties, accurately entering orders into POS and being attentive during service to support additional member or guest requests. 

A successful Buttercup server maintains a positive and influential attitude, is obsessed with details, process driven and flexible while working under pressure to ensure seamless communication is maintained between the Front of House (FOH) and Back of House (BOH) team members.

A Buttercup team member holds themselves and their teammates accountable to the Buttercup service standards and values. A Buttercup bar team member is approachable, engaging, and polished!

Main Duties
  • Develop and maintain professional relationships with all coworkers and management as well as complete checklists on all trained processes
  • Maintain a sharp, neatly-groomed and polished appearance at all times
  • Work varying shift times across the seven days, to include working weekends, opens & closes
  • Positively influence members and guests experience by elevating the dining experience with food and drink pairing options and discussing specials to drive sales through consistent and approachable communication and the highest level of service in accordance with Buttercup service standards
  • Maintain communication and advise Floor Manager/Kitchen/Management on any allergies or potential issues encountered throughout the night
  • Accurately complete all check out reports at the end of each shift
  • Adhere to health and safety policies as well as all Buttercup policies, procedures, standards and local, state, and federal law as applicable
  • Assist in running orders (kitchen and bar), bussing tables to support all table orders
  • Clean and stock server service areas, polish silverware, plates and/or glassware as needed
  • Maintain expert level knowledge of the menu, always ready and looking to make suggestions and upsell items
  • Provide consistently exceptional service, anticipating guest needs and creating memorable dining experiences.
  • Collaborate effectively with the kitchen and bar teams to ensure timely and accurate order delivery
  • Maintain clean and organized table settings throughout service
  • Accurately process payments and handle transactions
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor/manager
Required Skills/Qualifications
  • Minimum of 2+ years of experience in a similar capacity
  • Must be over the age of 21
  • Serv-Safe, Allergen and Basset Certified with POS knowledge
  • Fine dining experience preferred
  • Thrive in elevated, fast-paced environments and maintain a calm professional demeanor, effectively problem solving under pressure
  • Must be hospitable, approachable, passionate about customer service and respectful towards colleagues and guests
  • Punctual, reliable and trustworthy with a sense of urgency
  • Must be able to demonstrate competency as outlined in the training schedule
  • Must be able to work flexible shifts and schedules across seven, including weekends and holidays as needed
  • A coachable spirit, ability to work in a team environment and autonomously
Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to seize, grasp, turn and hold objects
  • Must be able to move, pull, carry or lift at least 50 pounds
  • Must be able to occasionally kneel, bend, crouch and climb is required
  • Must be able to perform physical activities such as lifting, cleaning, and stooping
  • Must be able to stand, walk, lift, and bend for long periods of time
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, lift, reach, push, twist, walk, crouch, and squat

Compensation Details

Compensation: Hourly ($12.62) plus tips
