Ace's Pizza is seeking a Sous Chef/Kitchen manager
Applicants should be someone comfortable working in a high volume, fast-paced environment, with a strong emphasis on accuracy, consistency and teamwork. The ideal candidate is not only an exceptional cook, but also a skilled communicator – clear, kind, and organized in both in-person and digital settings.
The position works closely with managers, leads, and staff to maintain a consistent product and a smooth flow of service. They are expected to assist with training peers on specific kitchen tasks and techniques as directed by kitchen leadership, and guide all aspects of day to day production.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Service & Staff:
- Be capable of problem solving daily in a leadership role.
- Execute pizza prep, topping, and working the oven according to set standards of consistency and quality.
- Ensure all DOH procedures are being followed at all times.
- Expo service during peak hours/days.
- Manage large/catering orders with team and management.
Kitchen Operations:
- Work the pizza line during service, ensuring accurate, timely execution of tasks.
- Follow kitchen systems and workflows as directed by the Head Chef.
- Assist with regular station checks and maintain service readiness.
REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to work full-time (5 days/week, 8+ hours/day), including weekends
- NYC DOH certification
- Effective and professional communication skills
- Ability to multitask
- Comfortable working on your feet for long periods and lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Experience in a high-volume kitchen is a must
