Kismet in East Hollywood/Los Felix is looking for a PART TIME SERVER who loves hospitality.

Kismet is a James Beard Award nominated restaurant known for chef driven, creative takes on market driven Mediterranean cuisine. It is a part a restaurant group which also includes four locations of Kismet Rotisserie, a fast casual restaurant focused on comforting and ultra-fresh everyday food, fully made from scratch in-house daily. 

For the sake of creating equity across all positions, all hourly (non-management) employees at Kismet are tipped and receive an equal share of the tip and bonus pools based on hours worked. This is different than most other restaurant policies, and results in more equitable wages between back and front out house. 

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• 2 years of similar restaurant experience required.
• Must be able to multitask and problem solve with a smile.
• Must be quick on your feet and a fast learner, without cutting corners.
• Must be professional and courteous toward fellow employees and customers.
• Must have a positive attitude and demeanor.
• Must be a team player.
• Experience with Toast POS and UberEats is a plus.
• MUST HAVE WEEKEND AVAILABILITY.

JOB OVERVIEW (Included, but not limited to):

• Host/Greet guests.
• Answer calls, make reservations and give guests accurate information. 
• Take orders in person, online and over the phone.
• Accurately input orders.
• Know the entire menu, including possible allergens and substitutions.
• Accurately describe the menu in an appealing manner.
• Ability to identify the menu items and run them to tables.
• Basic wine knowledge and the ability to sell wine accurately.
• Communication with the kitchen.
• Interact with customers and delivery drivers in a courteous and friendly manner.
• Troubleshoot errors in courteous and genuinely helpful manner.
• Set up/break down/maintain cleanliness of the space.
• Side work such as folding napkins, packaging sauces and other items, stocking beverages, etc.

BENEFITS:

The company also offers health insurance, including vision and dental, for employees working 20 hours or more. The company will pay for 50% of the base HMO health plan for any hourly non-management employee working 20+ hours, and will cover the full amount of a PPO plan for all managers. Additionally, we offer a 401k plan for any employee to opt in to. 

All employees have the added benefit of a 50% discount at all of our restaurants.

Job Type: Part-time

Salary:  $17.50/Hour, plus tips
