Major Food Group is hiring an Accounts Payable Specialist to join our growing team!
As a valuable addition to our team, you will play an important role in our fast-growing finance team. The ideal candidate is passionate about food, and has a strong background in accounting.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Review, verify, and process invoices and expense reports per market. Ensure that all restaurant invoices are accurate, complete, and properly authorized before payment
- Prepare and process restaurant payments, including checks, electronic transfers, and ACH payments
- Work with the finance team to reconcile accounts payable transactions and statements. Resolve discrepancies and ensure that all accounts are up-to-date and accurate
- Maintain organized and accurate records of all accounts payable transactions
- Track and categorize expenses related to restaurant operations
- Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, as well as relevant regulations and accounting standards. Implement internal controls to prevent errors and fraud.
- Assist in generating reports related to accounts payable activities, including aged payables, payment summaries, and expense reports. Provide insights and recommendations to restaurant management as needed
- Provide general administrative support to the finance team, including assisting with other accounting tasks and special projects as required
REQUIREMENTS:
- 3+ years of experience in accounts payable or related accounting role
- High School diploma or equivalent; an associate degree in Accounting, Finance or related field is a plus
- Reliable, proactive and able to work independently
- Strong communication skills and the ability to handle sensitive and confidential information
- Available to work out of our NYC office
- Ability to sit and stand for prolonged periods of time
- Experience with Restaurant365, Chouxbox, Craftable is a plus
- Proficient in the use of Excel Spreadsheets – including macros, pivot tables, and vlookups
Compensation: $65,000 - $75,000 annually based on experience

Compensation: Salary ($65,000.00 - $75,000.00)
