RAON, a modern Korean fine dining restaurant located in Midtown East, is seeking a Full-Time Captain / Sommelier to join our team.
We offer an intimate, high-touch dining experience focused on hospitality and curated beverage pairings that include exceptional wines and select Korean spirits.
With only 14 seats at our chef’s counter, this role is multifaceted — ideal for someone who is equally passionate about table service and wine. You will be responsible for both food service and beverage pairings, working closely with our culinary team to create a seamless and thoughtful guest experience.
What You’ll Do
- Provide an elevated yet approachable dining experience
- Guide guests through our menu, making thoughtful recommendations
- Work closely with the bar and kitchen to ensure seamless service
- Manage tables efficiently, balancing attentiveness with a relaxed atmosphere
- Maintain a clean and organized service area
- Handle transactions with accuracy and professionalism
What We’re Looking For
- Experience: At least 3 years in a wine-focused hospitality setting
- Wine Knowledge: A strong foundation in wine, or a willingness to learn quickly
- Personality: Warm, engaging, and confident—able to connect with guests and create memorable experiences
Work Ethic: Reliable, team-oriented, and proactive in problem-solving
Compensation Details
Compensation: Hourly ($15.00 - $17.00) plus tips
