Job Title: Runner
FLSA Status: Hourly + Tips/Non Exempt
Responsible for the proper and timely delivery of food from the kitchen to the dining room. Coordinates with servers so all food is delivered to the correct diners while maintaining a comfortable and effortless dining pace for the guests. Assists in providing a dining experience that meets or exceeds guest expectations.
As an ambassador of Eataly products and services, the Runner is responsible for helping to create and maintain quality experiences for each guest that comes to Eataly. Eataly ambassadors are expected to actively engage with guests and spend quality time with each customer.
Essential Job Functions (Duties & Responsibilities) Description
1. Ensure that the all food ordered by the customers reaches their tables at the desired temperature and in a highly presentable manner. Food must be timed and coursed appropriately. All food should be announced upon delivery to guests.
2. Ensures that each course delivered to a table is complete.
3. Adheres to all standard steps of service as recommended by department.
4. Properly garnish the food items before delivering to the table.
5. Place dishes on the table in front of the correct guest and according to service standards.
6. May be responsible for serving beverages.
7. Assists servers wherever necessary to create a positive dining experience for all guests.
8. Adheres to all company and department procedures, policies and expectations and quality standards.
Previous runner experience preferred. A good knowledge and understanding of various food items and ingredients. Good listening skills and capable of understanding verbal instructions quickly.
High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
Must be able to communicate effectively with employees, dining room staff and guests. Must be able to exert well-paced mobility for periods of up to four hours in length. Must have the ability to lift trays up to 30 pounds in weight. Must be able to follow instructions
