Summary of position: 

Provide friendly, responsive service to create an exceptional dining experience for all of our guests. Tell culinary stories about Twelvemonth that illustrate our commitment to vegetable-forward creativity and sustainability. Each server’s primary objective is to show our guests a marvelous time that exceeds their expectations such that they will want to return again and again.

Duties & Responsibilities (includes but not limited to):

  • Welcome and greet guests with warm and caring demeanor. Make all our guests feel comfortable and inform them of dining and beverage options. Inform first time guests about our ethos of vegetable-forward creativity and sustainability.
  • Provide guest option of complimentary still or sparkling water.
  • Inform guests of specials and menu changes.
  • Make recommendations you genuinely feel your guests will enjoy. Be an ‘Ambassador’ of Twelvemonth.
  • Answer questions about our food, beverages and other restaurant functions and services.
    • Possess deep menu knowledge to answer detailed questions about allergens and product sources.
  • Take food and beverage orders from guests and enter orders in our point-of-sale system.
  • Deliver food and beverages from kitchen and bar to guests in a timely manner for all tables.
  • Perform side work at the start, during and end of each shift as required by service station assignment.
  • Keep tables with active guests clean and manicured in coordination with server assistants.
  • Maintain clean service areas. Work smart, efficient and clean.
  • Monitor and observe guests dining experience. Ensure guests are satisfied with the food and service. Respond promptly and courteously to any requests.  Anticipate guest needs.
  • Assist fellow servers during any idle time or as situations arise.
  • Assist server assistants with clearing and resetting tables during any idle time or as situations arise.
  • Thank guests for their visit and invite them to return.
  • Prepare final bill, present check to guest, accept payment, process credit card charges or make change (if applicable).
  • Communicate with management about breaks during shifts, vacation, and other scheduling needs.
  • Be an essential part of a positive work environment
  • Be available to fill in as needed to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of the restaurant as directed by management or immediate supervisor.

Qualifications:

  • Be able to communicate and understand the predominant language(s) of our guests.
  • Must have a basic knowledge of dining room and service procedures and functions.
  • Possess basic math skills and have the ability to handle money and operate a point-of-sale system.
  • Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 5 hours).
  • Be able to safely lift and easily maneuver trays of food frequently weighing up to 20 to 25 pounds.
  • Ideally 2+ years experience in similar setting.
  • Full weekend availability.
  • Be passionate about the hospitality industry.
  • Fine Dining experience a big plus

Compensation Details

Compensation: Hourly ($17.43) plus tips
