At Bub and Grandma’s Pizza, we're passionate about great pizza–specifically the large, thin crust pies of New York, Connecticut, and New Jersey. We are opening a fast-paced, counter-service pizzeria with a strong commitment to community, hospitality, and culinary excellence.
OVERVIEW:
The Front of House Lead plays a critical role in the daily operations of the restaurant, ensuring smooth service, exceptional customer experiences, and consistent team performance. This is a hands-on leadership role focused on setting the tone for hospitality—primarily through counter and online ordering, with an eye toward our future dine-in service.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Oversee all daily shift responsibilities of the restaurant, specifically front of the house
- Lead by example in delivering warm, attentive customer service—primarily for counter and online orders.
- Ensure all food and beverage products meet quality standards
- Able to handle immediate guest complaints or order issues with empathy, clarity, and efficiency.
- Collaborate with the Head Chef and upper management to assure service is operating efficiently and harmoniously
- Monitor compliance with all health, safety, and sanitation regulations.
- Assist with inventory, order supplies, and control food, beverage, and labor costs.
- Oversee daily cash handling, deposits, and end-of-day procedures as necessary.
- Ensure all equipment and facilities are well-maintained and functionally relevant to your department
- Foster a positive and professional team environment; lead by example and support staff development.
- Uphold company policies, values, and standards at all times.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Recommended 2 years of leadership experience, pizza or fast-casual experience preferred.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards.
- Proficient with restaurant POS systems (Toast preferred).
- Familiarity in using scheduling software (7Shifts preferred).
- Passion for food, hospitality, and team development.
- Familiarity with delivery platforms (e.g. Uber Eats) and online ordering systems is preferred.
- Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 lbs as needed.
