La Marchande is looking for an experienced Barista to join our team! Baristas will prepare and serve coffee, tea, espresso, and other café drinks. Baristas will also support in maintaining, organizing, and stocking all supplies and materials for service, such as china, glass, silver, and linens.
We are looking for candidates who are outgoing and hardworking. Must be available weekends. If you are passionate about hospitality and enjoy working in a fast paced environment, we want to hear from you.
Must be willing and able to:
- Create and serve chilled and hot beverages such as coffee, cappuccinos, espresso, lattes, and teas
- Provide a level of excellence through great service with each customer you assist
- Demonstrate a thorough understanding of all menu offerings
- Distribute and restock barista and restaurant supplies
- Maintain a clean and orderly work area to ensure safety
- Perform calmly and effectively under pressure.
- Communicate effectively with guests and co-workers
- Prioritize guest experience
- Ability to multitask and problem solve
- Work best as part of a team
- Have a great attitude and a general passion for learning & sharing knowledge
Requirements:
- 1+ years barista experience
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds on a regular basis
- Ability to stand for prolong periods of time
- Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly frequent movements from place to place within the store. Bend, lift, carry, reach/extend arms, and hands above shoulder height frequently, or otherwise move in a constantly changing environment
- Climbing steps regularly.
- NYC experience is preferred but not necessary.
