We are hiring for culinary roles for Maxime’s El Puma restaurant!

Maxime’s is NYC’s newest private member’s club from entrepreneur Robin Birley; owner of prestigious private member’s clubs 5 Hertford Street and Oswald’s in London. Maxime’s mission is to provide exceptional and discreet service for our members through unparalleled hospitality. Our members will feel as though they are in a private home, enjoying outstanding food and wine surrounded by stunning decor.

We are seeking applicants for a variety of culinary roles to join our kitchen team in our El Puma restaurant that focuses on bold and contemporary Latin-American cuisine. Applicants can expect to work in a state of the art kitchen, providing excellent fine dining cuisine.

OUR CURRENT OPPORTUNITIES INCLUDE: 

  • Senior Sous Chef - $95,000 - $105,000/ annum
  • Junior Sous Chef - $85,000 - $90,000/ annum
  • Chef de Partie - $28.00 - $33.00/ hour
  • Line Cook's - $28.00 - $33.00/ hour
  • Commis Chef - $22.00 - $26.00/ hour

 POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience working in a fine dining restaurant and/or hotel.
  • Experience with Latin-American cuisine. 
  • Current NYC Food Protection Certificate.
  • Willingness to maintain a clean, healthy, and safe working environment.
  • Willingness to be respectful with our values and principles.
  • Ability to work independently, with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to be at work on-time, work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, as needed.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT

  • Ability to be flexible with job demands and open-minded when being asked to complete tasks.
  • Ability to operate and use all equipment necessary to run the restaurant.
  • Ability to operate with grace under pressure.
  • Ability to move or handle equipment throughout the restaurant generally weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work varied hours/days as business dictates.
  • Ability to stand for up to 8-10 hours a day.

Opened in March 2025, Maxime’s is located on Madison Avenue, New York on the site of the former Westbury Hotel and will continue the long-established Birley tradition of providing exceptional experiences to our members and guests.
