Supermoon Bakehouse is an award-winning, design-forward pastry studio known for boundary-pushing viennoiserie, creative cruffins, and an unforgettable guest experience. We operate on an ethos of craftsmanship, curiosity, and hospitality — and we’re gearing up for multi-location expansion in 2025.
Role Overview
The General Manager is the nerve-center of daily execution, owning Front-of-House (FOH), Back-of-House (BOH), Shipping, and Wholesale operations end-to-end. You’ll translate big-picture strategy into flawless shifts, ensuring every croissant, customer, and package leaves the bakehouse at peak quality. This role is currently focused on our flagship location, with a clear runway to oversee additional sites as we scale later this year.
Key Responsibilities:
FOH & Guest Experience

Lead, schedule, and develop FOH team (baristas, cashiers, runners) to deliver Supermoon’s signature service

Monitor service flow, queue times, and merchandising to maximize sales and guest satisfaction

Resolve guest issues with urgency, empathy, and brand voice
BOH & Production Support

Partner with Head Chef to balance production capacity with daily/weekly demand

Oversee inventory control for ingredients, packaging, and supplies; maintain par levels & reduce waste

Implement and enforce food-safety, sanitation, and equipment-maintenance standards
Shipping & E-Commerce Fulfillment

Own end-to-end shipping workflow (packaging, labeling, carriers, tracking)

Optimize processes for speed, accuracy, and cost; ensure same-day dispatch targets
Wholesale Program

Act as primary point of contact for wholesale partners; coordinate order intake, production, and delivery logistics

Analyze sell-through data to propose product mixes, launches, and adjustments

Negotiate pricing, MOQs, and lead times in line with company margins

Preserve and evolve Supermoon’s culture across FOH, BOH, Shipping, and Wholesale; ensure every teammate embodies our values

Plan and host regular team touchpoints, celebrations, and culture‑building activities

Be the champion for employee well‑being; conduct pulse surveys, 1:1s, and recognition programs

Profitability & Margin Optimization

Own the bakery’s P&L; track daily and weekly performance, flag variances, and implement initiatives to expand gross margins

Partner with culinary and purchasing teams to reduce COGS, renegotiate vendor terms, and optimize labor efficiency
People, Finance & Reporting

Build staffing plans, conduct hiring, onboarding, training, performance reviews, and corrective actions

Manage labor budgets, COGS, and operational KPIs; present weekly and monthly reports to the Owner

Champion a “one team” culture across FOH, BOH, and support functions
Qualifications & Experience
-
5+ years progressive experience managing FOH/BOH operations in high-volume bakery, café, or food-service concepts

Demonstrated success scaling from single-unit to multi-unit or multi-channel (retail + e-commerce/wholesale)

Proven track record in people leadership: hiring, coaching, and building high-performing teams of 25+ employees

Strong command of inventory management systems, POS, and basic financial analysis (P&L, COGS, labor %)

ServSafe Food Protection Manager (or equivalent) certification preferred

Ability to lift 50 lbs. and thrive in a physically demanding, fast-paced environment
