Altro Paradiso is hiring an Experienced Full-Time Server 

From globally acclaimed chef Ignacio Mattos, Altro Paradiso is an Italian restaurant in the heart of SoHo and an essential New York City dining destination. The restaurant’s menu draws inspiration from several Italian regions, celebrating timeless craftsmanship throughout, while the room’s high ceilings and glimmering brass bar contribute to a lively nightly atmosphere. Since opening in 2016, Altro has garnered many devoted regulars, ranging from neighborhood residents to travelers who treat the restaurant like a second home whenever they’re in town. 

A server is responsible for managing the guest’s overall dining experience by providing prompt, attentive table service. This role will support the guests’ dining experience and will be in communication with service and kitchen team and serving guests in an efficient manner. 

Lunch, dinner and weekeend availability is required

Key Focus 

  • Take guest orders in an accurate and orderly manner.  
  • Make educated menu recommendations to guests. 
  • Ensure all food and beverage orders are fulfilled and uphold quality. 
  • Provide attentive and quality service to all guests during their experience.  

Guest Service 

  • Ensure all guests consistently receive courteous and efficient service. 
  • Respond positively and promptly to customer concerns and complaints. 
  • Maintain guest satisfaction by monitoring and evaluating food beverage and service offerings. 
  • Communicate any food allergy or special nutrition needs to kitchen staff. 
  • Maintain a welcoming and orderly restaurant environment. 
  • Build relationships with repeat guests. 

Personnel 

  • Ensure compliance with occupational, health, and safety standards. 
  • Participate actively during pre-shift meetings. 
  • Participate in restaurant service and team trainings.  
  • Ensure consistent communication with team members, management, and the kitchen during service. 
  • Demonstrate ability to aid co-workers during service while successfully maintaining responsibilities.

Physical Demands

  • The physical demands for this position are seeing, hearing, speaking, reaching, lifting up to 25 pounds, occasionally lifting up to 50 pounds, standing for long periods, bending, and moving intermittently during working hours.

Compensation: Hourly ($11.00) plus tips
