We are currently seeking an experienced Sous Chef to support our Chef de Cuisine in executing a bold culinary vision with excellence, professionalism, and creativity.

SUMMARY
Reporting to the Chef de Cuisine, the Sous Chef plays a key leadership role in upholding the culinary standards of Casamara. With a hands-on approach, this individual will help manage daily kitchen operations, support and develop the back-of-house team, and contribute directly to the guest experience by ensuring food is prepared and presented at the highest level.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Oversee day-to-day kitchen operations and food production

Assist with inventory management and ordering of food and beverage supplies

Inspect deliveries to ensure quality and freshness

Ensure all food is prepared according to restaurant standards and health guidelines

Coach and motivate kitchen team to maintain a positive and high-performance culture

Conduct ongoing training in line with standards set by the Chef de Cuisine

Monitor labor, prep, and scheduling to meet business needs and control costs

Uphold all sanitation, safety, and food handling protocols

Maintain cleanliness and organization of workstations and kitchen equipment
QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum 2 years of experience in a Sous Chef or similar leadership role

Culinary degree or formal training is preferred

Food Handler Certification and Health & Safety training are assets

Strong understanding of Mediterranean flavors and seafood techniques

Excellent communication, organization, and leadership skills

Flexible availability including weekends, holidays, mornings, and evenings

Energetic, creative, and passionate about food and hospitality

Able to follow instructions precisely and lead by example

Physically able to stand for long periods, lift heavy items, and perform repetitive tasks
