Position Summary
At Chicago Chop House, servers embody the restaurant’s legacy of timeless Chicago hospitality. The Fine Dining Server is responsible for delivering an elevated, knowledgeable, and polished experience that reflects the restaurant’s historic character, award-winning steak and wine program, and commitment to exceptional guest service. This role requires refined service technique, strong menu and beverage knowledge, and the ability to create memorable dining experiences in an iconic Chicago setting.
Key Responsibilities Guest Experience

Warmly greet guests and introduce Chicago Chop House’s signature offerings.

Provide attentive, anticipatory service that aligns with classic fine-dining steakhouse standards.

Offer informed recommendations on steaks, aging methods, seafood, accompaniments, cocktails, and the wine list.

Guide guests through multi-course dining, ensuring smooth pacing and impeccable presentation.

Uphold Chicago Chop House’s reputation for friendly yet refined Midwestern hospitality.
Service & Execution

Execute proper steakhouse service techniques, including synchronized delivery, mark changing, and course timing.

Present and serve wine and spirits using proper fine-dining standards.

Accurately take and input guest orders; communicate precise modifications to the kitchen.

Maintain detailed knowledge of steak cuts, doneness levels, sides, preparations, and cooking methods.

Manage table maintenance discreetly—crumbing, refilling beverages, resetting cutlery, and preparing for next courses.
Cleanliness & Organization

Maintain spotless tables, side stations, and service areas.

Follow food safety, sanitation, and health standards.

Assist with stocking wines, glassware, linens, condiments, and service tools.
Qualifications

Previous experience in fine dining or high-end steakhouse service preferred.

Strong understanding of steak cuts, classic sauces, seafood, and wine pairing.

Confident communication and ability to build rapport with guests from all backgrounds.

Excellent attention to detail and poise under pressure.

Professional appearance and adherence to Chicago Chop House’s standards of hospitality.

Ability to stand for long periods and carry trays/plates.

Grooming & Professional Appearance

Hair must be neatly styled; long hair tied back. If you have a long pony tail it needs to put put in a tight bun.

Natural, subtle makeup; no heavy perfumes or colognes.

Minimal jewelry; NO visible tattoos or piercings.

Nails clean and short; neutral polish if used.

Uniform must be immaculate at the start of every shift. Put that much attention to what you wear and how you look in the interview as well
