Armitage Alehouse, a part of Hogsalt, is looking for dedicated and experienced Full Time Line Cooks ($20-$24/hour) to join our team!

Experience & Qualifications: 

  • 1 year of cooking experience in a fast-paced, full-service restaurant. 

  • Passion for excellence, superior service standards, and a positive attitude.

  • Open availability including nights, weekends, and holidays.

  • Ability to stand, walk, and move throughout the shift, including frequent bending, lifting items weighing up to 50 pounds, and stooping.

  • Ability to remain positive and productive in a potentially hot or cold work environment.

Duties & Responsibilities: 

  • Set up and stock station with all necessary supplies, ensuring proper inventory control.

  • Cook and prepare menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff according to the Hogsalt Recipe Index, ensuring food quality and time standards are always met.

  • Maintain a high level of communication, understand the verbiage for call backs of menu items, and keep lines of dialogue open and relevant to service.

  • Answer, report to, and follow instructions and direction from Sous Chef, Executive Chef, or other leadership.

  • Properly clean and break down station at the end of service, ensuring all food handling and food storage standards are met.

  • Ensure that the kitchen operation procedures and hygiene meet food safety standards and regulations at all times.

  • Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers, leadership, vendors, and guests..

Outside, it's Lincoln Park, but inside the doors of the Armitage Ale House, it's London, circa 1926. This is the neighborhood pub you always knew existed back when, in the days when fireplaces still burned wood and music came from the piano, just like they do here. The menu offers select ales and cocktails, paired with hearty pub fare and dishes with their roots in India. The thoughtfully capacious list of French and American wines includes a number of curry-friendly selections and, of course, proper clarets. Rich, eclectic decor, spacious booths, warm lights and hand-carved woodwork — they just don't make them like the Armitage any more.
