Amaranth is a beloved neighborhood restaurant bringing the warmth and charm of the French and Italian Riviera to the heart of Manhattan’s Upper East Side. Nestled just steps from Madison Avenue, Amaranth offers a refined yet relaxed dining experience centered around fresh ingredients, Mediterranean flavors, and genuine hospitality.

 Amaranth has become a favorite among locals, visitors, and international tastemakers since opening its doors over two decades ago. The menu features a vibrant mix of French and Italian classics served in an inviting space where regulars are always greeted by name.

Above all, we are seeking thoughtful, passionate candidates who are confident in all facets of the restaurant and approach the workplace with professionalism, teamwork and commitment to our community. We will consider candidates with relevant experience in fast paced, high-volume restaurants. Candidates with experience in leadership at a busy New York restaurant will be strongly considered.  

We are currently seeking FULL-TIME OR PART-TIME Lead Host candidatesWeekend availability required.

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years high-volume host experience
  • Resy experienced required
  • Good employment record that shows commitment 
  • Passion and knowledge for maximizing covers while adequately managing guest expectations 
  • Ability to communicate efficiently and with grace under pressure


Responsibilities Include:

  • Maintaining reservation book according to restaurant policy and standards on a daily basis, alerting mngt and events coordinator as needed 
  • Providing friendly and attentive service
  • Ability to respond to environment with urgency and grace 
  • Thorough understanding of sidework and all tasks associated with host role
  • Professional presentation and positive attitude at all times
  • Basic knowledge of menu to accurately answer guest questions 
  • Willingness to help out wherever service requires 
  • Assisting in tasks to ensure a stocked, sanitized and safe restaurant

Compensation Details

Compensation: Hourly ($20.00 - $25.00)
