-
Encourage a sense of “gracious professionalism” among staff — balancing warmth and attentiveness with operational excellence.
-
Act as a steward of the restaurant’s identity and Italian-American roots, sharing stories behind dishes, ingredients, and traditions when appropriate.
-
Team Leadership & Development
-
Assist in building and sustaining a high-performing front-of-house team, rooted in respect, trust, and accountability.
-
Lead pre-shift meetings that educate, energize, and align the team on service goals and restaurant standards.
-
Serve as a coach and mentor, offering consistent feedback and growth opportunities for staff at all levels.
-
Daily Operations & Service Execution
-
Ensure daily service flows smoothly — from pacing to table touches to coordination with the kitchen.
-
Monitor cleanliness, ambiance, and flow to ensure that every guest experiences the signature warmth and care of Vita.
-
Handle guest concerns with empathy and resolve, always aiming to turn moments of friction into opportunities to impress.
-
Financial & Business Insight
-
Partner with the General Manager on labor, scheduling, inventory, and budget management.
-
Identify and implement small improvements that contribute to guest satisfaction, revenue growth, and team morale.
-
Support the development of community engagement and local partnerships that reflect Vita’s place in the fabric of Philadelphia.
Qualifications:
-
2+ years of restaurant management experience, preferably in upscale casual or fine dining.
-
Deep appreciation for Italian-American cuisine, culture, and the art of true hospitality.
-
High hospitality quotient (HQ) — kind, curious, self-aware, and emotionally intelligent.
-
Calm under pressure with a sharp eye for detail and commitment to excellence.
-
A collaborative, humble leadership style with a drive to build and maintain strong teams.
