As part of a reimagined Top of the Rock experience, the most iconic vantage point of Manhattan now includes The Weather Room Bar and Café. Named after the formerly functioning National Weather Service’s Doppler radar that sits atop the 70th floor of Rockefeller Center, The Weather Room offers distinctly New York food and beverages in the clouds.
All ingredients and prepared foods are sourced from fine purveyors across Rockefeller Center’s campus and throughout the five boroughs. Guests can enjoy espresso drinks, baked goods, counter sandwiches, and snacks while taking in the iconic view of Top of The Rock.
Position Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Nightlife Manager to oversee evening operations, manage event programming, and lead a high-performing team during our busiest hours. The ideal candidate has a deep love for music, strong hospitality instincts, and the leadership skills to keep a fast-paced venue running smoothly.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
Nightly Operations Management
- Oversee all aspects of nighttime service, ensuring high standards of hospitality and safety
- Coordinate staffing, opening/closing procedures, and shift changes
- Troubleshoot issues as they arise, maintaining a calm and professional demeanor
Team Leadership
- Supervise and support bartenders, barbacks, security, and floor staff
- Provide training and guidance on guest service, bar standards, and menu knowledge
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and team-oriented work culture
Music & Event Programming
- Collaborate with talent bookers and promoters to schedule DJs, live bands, and themed events
- Manage load-ins, soundchecks, and artist hospitality on show nights
- Ensure smooth coordination between front-of-house, tech team, and performers
Guest Experience
- Act as the primary point of contact for guest concerns or special requests during evening hours
- Maintain a vibrant, welcoming, and safe environment for all patrons
- Monitor crowd flow, music volume, and overall vibe throughout the night
Administrative Duties
- Track sales, labor, and event performance data
- Assist with scheduling, inventory, and vendor communication as needed
- Ensure compliance with local laws regarding noise, capacity, and alcohol service
Qualifications
- 2-3 years of experience in a supervisory or management position in a high-volume restaurant or music venue. Experience with service management and VIP guests is necessary for this role.
- Restaurant Management Certification or college degree in a related field, preferred
- Fluency in written and spoken English
- Ability to perform job duties and responsibilities well and maintain professionalism and composure under pressure and in a high-paced and at times stressful environment

- Familiarity with restaurant management software such as point of sales, reservations management, inventory management, and any additional systems to access and accurately input information using a moderately complex computer system
