Turks Head Wines is a California winery with a flagship tasting room and restaurant located in the heart of downtown West Chester, PA. All of our wines are sourced, produced and bottled by us in Napa, California—then brought east to pair with a chef-driven menu that’s earning rave reviews from guests.

What You’ll Do
As GM, you’ll be the operational heart of Turks Head Wines' Tasting Room. You’ll oversee daily service, lead a passionate team, and work cross-functionally with ownership, the Executive Chef, and the Director of Wine Experiences and Education. You’ll also take an active role in building scalable systems and refining processes to improve efficiency, team performance, and the overall guest experience.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Leadership

Oversee all day-to-day operations of the multifacted aspects of the Tasting Room

Maintain the highest standards for service, cleanliness, safety, and hospitality

Ensure compliance with food safety, labor laws, and PLCB licensing requirements

Implement and refine processes that streamline operations and improve consistency
Systems + Process Improvement

Build infrastructure for service training, onboarding, and team communication

Collaborate with ownership to develop SOPs and guest experience standards

Identify opportunities for improvement and drive strategic changes across departments

Create accountability systems to support quality control and team performance
Cross-Functional Collaboration

Work closely with our Executive Chef to execute the culinary vision and experiences

Partner with the Director of Wine Experiences and Education on tastings, education, and service training

Collaborate with the leadership team and ownership on CRU Club (our private member only lounge) strategy, member communications, and loyalty programming
Staff Development

Hire, train, and mentor FOH staff including servers, hosts, wine educators, and support

Conduct performance reviews and provide feedback to build a high-achieving, high-performing team

Manage scheduling and labor costs while maintaining a strong service culture
Guest Experience

Uphold and elevate the guest experience through thoughtful leadership and engagement

Proactively manage guest feedback, turning challenges into opportunities, problems into solutions

Develop, execute and support private events, private wine tastings, and special wine and culinary programs

Oversee the guest experience for CRU Club members, our member only lounge, ensuring VIP service and personalized hospitality

Collaborate with the team to plan and host CRU Club events, and other wine focused special events to increase member engagement
Financial Oversight

Manage operating budgets, control labor and COGs, and oversee daily financial reporting

Track KPIs including sales, average check, and team performance

Partner with the ownership and finance team on forecasting, planning, and reporting
What We’re Looking For

Proven experience as a General Manager or senior leader in a restaurant or hospitality setting

Background with upscale hospitality concepts that have gone through growth or expansion phases

Experience launching or scaling operations
- In-depth understanding of restaurant operations, including elite fine dining steps service, wine knowledge, inventory management, and compliance

Operationally savvy with a talent for designing systems that scale

Direct experience working with owners/founders and balancing autonomy with direction

Strong business acumen and financial understanding of budgets, labor, inventory, and margin management

Wine knowledge and passion for pairing food and wine preferred

A collaborative leader with outstanding problem-solving capabilities, employing a proactive and solution-driven approach.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal aptitude, effectively engaging with staff, customers, and stakeholders.
- Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to effectively manage and inspire a talented team.

Familiar with tools like Tock or other modern hospitality platforms

Adaptability to excel in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, including availability for evenings, weekends, and holidays as necessary.
