About SHIA:
SHIA is a nonprofit fine dining restaurant dedicated to reimagining sustainability in hospitality. From eliminating single-use plastics to crafting candles from kitchen byproducts, every element of our work is intentional. We are a small, collaborative team committed to precision, creativity, and care—for our guests, for our craft, and for each other.
Role Overview:
We’re seeking a thoughtful and reliable team member to support both the back and front of house. This hybrid position touches all aspects of service, from dishwashing and kitchen prep to polishing, resetting, and sustainability projects like candle and paper making. It’s ideal for someone who values behind-the-scenes excellence and is energized by variety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Wash and sanitize dishes, utensils, and cookware with care and consistency
- Meticulously polish glassware, flatware, and serviceware to fine-dining standards
- Assist with BOH prep tasks, including peeling, portioning, organizing, and labeling
- Support FOH resets, table setups, and stocking
- Contribute to SHIA’s sustainability efforts, including candle pouring and handmade paper production
- Maintain a clean, organized dish and prep area in line with DOH and internal standards
- Assist with other operational tasks as needed
What We’re Looking For:
- A calm, focused presence who takes pride in quiet contributions
- Attention to detail and a commitment to quality
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for long periods
- Comfort working across departments and adjusting to shifting needs
- Interest in sustainability, craft, or hospitality a plus—but not required
- Weekend and evening availability required
Why SHIA:
We offer a collaborative, intentional environment where creativity and precision meet. At SHIA, every team member plays a role in shaping a new kind of restaurant—one that’s grounded in care, purpose, and possibility.
