Job Details

Position Overview:

The Beverage Captain will be responsible for overseeing the restaurant’s wine and beverage program. This role involves collaborating closely with Management to support day-to-day operations, ensuring the highest standards of service and quality are maintained throughout the guest experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supporting management on the floor, ensuring steps of service and companies’ standards are always followed by coordinating front-of-house operations, ensuring smooth collaboration among staff and consistently exceeding guest expectations.
  • Oversee all aspects of the restaurant’s wine and beverage offerings, including bar operations, inventory, organization, and cost control.
  • Develop and lead comprehensive training programs for the team, focusing on wine and beverage knowledge, tasting and service excellence.
  • Partner with management to ensure the delivery of exceptional service and seamless operational flow.
  • Assist in daily operational tasks such as reporting and opening/closing procedures.
  • Lead by example to cultivate a positive, professional, and collaborative team environment, while upholding the highest performance standards.
  • Provide coaching, constructive feedback, and guidance to staff members to foster their ongoing growth, engagement, and motivation.
  • Ensure all team members comply with company policies and procedures.
  • Greet and welcome guests with a warm, professional demeanor.
  • Address guest requests efficiently and ensure guest satisfaction.
  • Inspects all orders for accuracy and damaged products.
  • Assists with Stocking, Cellar Management, Beverage Inventory, and other administrative tasks as directed by senior management.

Qualifications and experience:

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in the hospitality industry, specifically in a beverage captain / sommelier role.
  • Previous fine dining experience is preferred
  • Kosher experience not required
  • Strong knowledge of food & beverage and wine service.
  • Exceptional proficiency in English (both written and verbal).
  • Impeccable grooming and professional appearance.
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and leadership skills.
  • Flexibility to work a varied schedule, including evenings and holidays as required by business needs.

Compensation Details

Compensation: Hourly ($16.00 - $25.00) plus tips
