Calling all beverage and culinary professionals interested in working at the intersection of restaurant hospitality and sustainable agriculture.
Blue Hill at Stone Barns is a two-Michelin star restaurant and leading voice in the sustainable food movement. Together with our nonprofit partner, the Stone Barns Center for Food & Agriculture, we form a research and education institute working to develop a regional and ecological future of food. The dining room is our testing ground and space to showcase new ideas.
The Beverage Team Assistant has a holistic understanding of the restaurant’s beverage program, which includes cocktails, wine, beer, spirits, tea, coffee and non-alcoholic beverages. They work closely with the bar, dining room and kitchen teams to run daily beverage operations, create a welcoming, hospitable environment for guests, and shape the beverage program.

As such, you will have the opportunity to participate in weekly education with guest speakers, classes, and training, and be eligible for a stipend for external education and dining opportunities.

Tasks May Include:
- Creating a welcoming environment for all guests at the bar area, including upholding excellence and cleanliness.
- Demonstrating sound knowledge of our food menu and ideas as well as specialty and classic cocktails (ingredients, specs, build), wine, beer, and beverage offerings. Enabling the ability to suggest beverage pairings.
- Following steps of service with poise and fluency, while maintaining a sense of urgency throughout service.
- Maintaining cleanliness and organization of the bar area and actively participating in the development of systems behind the bar.
- Cultivating a supportive, energetic, and authentic environment for guests and team members.
- Familiarizing new team members with bar policies and procedures and reinforcing with current staff.
- Participating in dining room activities like running food, storytelling about our food and campus, clearing tables, and kitchen activities such as preparing ingredients for beverages, foraging for ingredients, and working with the Preservation Team.
- Able to perform all other job-related duties. This position requires manual dexterity and the ability to follow oral/written instructions and procedures. You must be able to safely lift up to 50 pounds and stand for long periods.
The Details:
- Compensation: $22 - 25 / hour
- Report directly to the Beverage Innovation Manager and Beverage Director
- Access to staff education including: daily cooks meetings, regular beverage classes, weekly presentations by industry leaders at family meal, and more

- Location & Hours: Full time position in-person at Blue Hill at Stone Barns in Pocantico Hills, NY (~1 hr drive from NYC). Shifts involve working evenings and weekends.

Compensation: Hourly ($22.00 - $25.00)
