Line Cook

FULL TIME LINE COOK AT A NEW CHINESE WINE BAR IN CHINATOWN 21-24/HR

Lei is a new, critically acclaimed Chinese Cuisine-driven wine bar opened in Chinatown last summer. We are looking for a talented, enthusiastic, and motivated line cook to join our culinary team.

We’re looking for a Line Cook who is organized, efficient, and excited to work with Chinese ingredients and techniques. If you are able to start immediately it is a big plus. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE

• Work closely with fellow kitchen staff to cook for nightly dinner service 
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness and food safety, keeping workstations, utensils, and equipment sanitized and organized
• Set up cooking stations with necessary ingredients and tools for service
• Ensure proper portioning, plating, and presentation of dishes
• Assist in the preparation of mise as needed for service
• Follow all kitchen health and safety protocols and standards
• Assist with end-of-shift kitchen cleaning and breakdown of kitchen

QUALIFICATIONS

• At least 1 year experience in a fast-paced kitchen environment, preferably in NYC
• Knowledge of Chinese ingredients and technique is not a necessity but a curiosity to learn is
• Ability to work well under pressure while maintaining attention to detail
• Strong communication skills and ability to work well with a team
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and follow directions
• New York City Food Handler's Certification or be on track to obtain one within 3 months of employment
