Salary Range: $25.00 - $27.00 (DOE and State)
Gjelina Restaurant in Noho on Bond St. seeks an exceptional, hospitality-driven Maître D’ to lead our front door and guest experience.
As a high-volume, high-energy restaurant, we value confident professionals who bring warmth, precision, and leadership to every shift.
The ideal candidate is passionate about guest hospitality, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and has a sharp eye for detail and flow. This role is essential to setting the tone for our service, from the first greeting to managing reservations, seating, and overall front-of-house coordination. Key Responsibilities:

Warmly greet and seat guests while managing waitlists and reservations (via OpenTable).

Supervise and coordinate hosts during service.

Ensure clear communication with guests and service staff.

Handle guest inquiries, complaints, and special requests professionally.

Support team training and uphold service standards.

Maintain knowledge of regular guests and menu items.
Ideal Candidate:

Minimum 2 years of host or front desk experience in a leadership capacity.

Strong multitasking and organizational skills in a fast-paced setting.

Calm under pressure, team-oriented, and detail-driven.

Familiarity with OpenTable and POS systems.

Excellent verbal communication and guest service instincts.

Committed to ongoing learning and staff development.

Available evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Additional Requirements:

Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 35 lbs.

Completion of alcohol safety and harassment prevention training.

Knowledge of hospitality best practices and health/safety protocols.
