Major Food Group is hiring Bakers to join our culinary team at Torrisi!
Located in the historic Puck Building, Torrisi, a love letter to Little Italy, proudly presents an Italian-American restaurant with an extensive wine program, a New York-Italian cocktail bar and a luxe deli. Chef Rich Torrisi presides over an open kitchen and presents showstopping dishes, with many prepared or finished tableside to engender warm and welcoming hospitality.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for the preparation and cooking of foods based on recipes, quality standards, and presentation standards
- Follow recipes accurately and completely
- Prepare ingredients for cooking, including chopping and storing food
- Clean and restock workstations and ensuring that all equipment is sanitized and prepared for the next shift
- Maintain high levels of cleanliness and organization of assigned work areas, adhering to sanitation/health regulations and company policy.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Completed a pastry arts degree or certificate
- Worked in a professional kitchen for 2+ years
- Food handler's certification (required)
- Team-orientated and positive attitude
- Strong communication skills a must
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
- Must be able to work standing and walking for extended periods of time

COMPENSTAION: $18.00-22.00 / hour
