As an essential member of the restaurant team and the first point of contact at the door, the host holds a large responsibility in setting the tone for the dining experience. An ideal candidate will present themselves professionally with a warm and welcoming appearance and demeanor, and must display excellent communication skills, be organized, provide attentive customer service and have a great level of positive energy.

Candidate prerequisites:
- Creative and self-motivated problem solver
- Positive attitude and interpersonal skills
- Restaurant experience required
- Experience with Resy required
Olmsted was a James Beard Awards Finalist for Best New Restaurant in 2017. Our approach is informed by the world renowned restaurants from which Chef Greg Baxtrom and our team have learned, but is casual and approachable.

Olmsted is a neighborhood restaurant in the heart of Prospect Heights from chef-owner Greg Baxtrom. We offer a seasonal, ingredient-driven menu, some of which comes straight from our backyard garden (yes, you’re welcome to sit there for a drink and a bite). We built the entire 50-seat restaurant with a living wall and lush garden ourselves, and named it after Frederick Law Olmsted, the famed architect behind nearby Prospect Park.
