Wirlybird Coffee is opening a brand new location in Olde Kensington within Wissahickon Brewing Company's new taproom. As a full-time barista at Wirlybird Coffee, you will fill an integral role in the shop’s day-to-day service operation. Baristas are responsible for maintaining the highest levels of customer experience and will have the pleasure of being part of a growing team with a passion for all things coffee!
JOB REQUIREMENTS
- Work in a team environment to complete daily operational tasks
- Practice basic safety procedures with respect to equipment and handling hot beverages
- Assist in evaluating and modifying processes to improve efficiency and quality of service
- Capable of working in a fast paced, high energy environment
- Listen well and communicate in a professional and friendly manner
- Focus on customer satisfaction and work to build good relationships with customers
- Be extremely efficient and organized
- Collaborate with Wissahickon Brewing Company staff to provide simultaneous beer and coffee service to customers when applicable
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Operate equipment including coffee grinders, brewers, and espresso machines
- Greet customers in a friendly manner and take drink orders
- Follow specific recipes and techniques to prepare and serve high quality beverages
- Answer customers’ questions about menu choices and make knowledgeable recommendations when requested
- Operate a basic POS system and take payment from customers
- Keep the work environment sanitary and organized
QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum 1 year experience working as a barista in a specialty coffee shop
- Must have morning and weekend availability
- Have a love for coffee and an interest in working at a specialty coffee shop!
