The Fifty/50 Restaurant Group is currently hiring a multi-unit General Manager. Candidates will be responsible for the overall operation of two adjacent restaurants, West Town Bakery and Roots Handmade Pizza. Work with the Divisional Operations Manager and Divisional Executive Chef in executing day-to-day operations, growing the business, driving sales and managing costs. Must have the ability to run a smooth and efficient shift. This position will have a strong focus on service and hospitality, as well as organizational skills such as purchasing and scheduling (managing labor cost) along with other operational related tasks. This candidate will have the aptitude to develop leadership and emotional maturity skills while operating busy, full-service establishments. This candidate will also require strong abilities to operate and oversee private events and offsite events as this is an important aspect of revenue for both locations.
Essential Functions (Other duties will be assigned as needed):
- Interact with, direct and supervise Employees on a daily basis in a fair and dignified manner
- Assist with interviewing, hiring, training, developing and retention of qualified Employees
- Promote teamwork among co-workers and Employees
- Be hands on with all Front of House and Back of House positions to ensure smooth and efficient service
- Authorize and control comps/voids for all service personnel
- Follow up with Employees and co-workers to ensure completion of assigned projects
- Identify, address and document individual Employee performance problems according to company policies and procedures
- Discipline and/or terminate as necessary according to company policies and procedures
- Assign Employee workstations
- Uphold applicable policies and requirements of employment laws
- Become proficient in all job functions of both Front of House and Back of House Employees
- Organize and conduct periodic informational seminars for Employees
- Have a thorough understanding of and practice all Fifty/50 Restaurant Group Employee handbook, Employee benefits and company philosophies
- Assist with scheduling, conducting and documenting of Employee reviews according to standard operating procedure
- Complete projects as assigned in a timely manner
- Perform varied duties to ensure proper restaurant operation according to standard operating procedure
- Create atmosphere including lighting, music and temperature levels
- Address Guest complaints and problems effectively and courteously on an as needed basis
- Use tact and good judgment when dealing with Guests by responding to their needs with patience and courtesy
- Comprehension and ownership of P&L
