Job Description:
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Assistant Baker to join our growing bakery team. This role supports our head baker in the daily production of breads and pastries. The ideal candidate is passionate about baking, dependable, thrives in a team environment, and is eager to learn and grow in the culinary field.
Responsibilities:
• Assist in the preparation of breads, croissants, laminated doughs, cookies, cakes, and other pastries
• Accurately scale, mix, shape, and bake doughs according to recipes and production needs
• Support fermentation, proofing, and baking timelines
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the baking station
• Follow all food safety and sanitation standards
• Contribute to seasonal menu items and product testing
• Be punctual, collaborative, and consistent
Qualifications:
• 1+ year experience in a commercial baking environment (preferred)
• Familiarity with laminated doughs, sourdoughs, or pastries a plus
• Ability to lift 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
• Flexible schedule, including early mornings and possibly in the future weekends
• A positive attitude and strong work ethic
• Culinary school or baking certification is a plus, but not required
