Job Details
This is a full-time position for Lead Line Cook. This position has a starting range of $20-24/hr depending on experience and performance. Health insurance is available after 90 days. Discounts on food and wine for employees. 

Schedule: 3pm-close, Wednesday-Sunday. 

Altovino is an owner operated, regionally inspired Italian restaurant in the Nob Hill neighborhood of San Francisco. We are known for our hand made pasta & deeply satisfying entrees, which are carefully developed to utilize every part of the best local produce & proteins. Chef-Owner Nick Kelly also makes numerous products in house including shrubs, garum, vinegars and more. Wine is a big part of our restaurant and currently runs an exclusively Italian wine program, with a focus on high-altitude wines. 

We are looking for someone who is reliable and punctual with a positive attitude. Our current staff all gets along very well--we enjoy our work and our guests. We'd like to add to our team with someone patient and hardworking who can positively contribute to this dynamic. We all love Italian food and take pride in diving deep into the cuisine and wine in order to provide a truly interesting dining experience. 

We ask that you come to work each day in the spirit of learning and growing. While there is room for you to contribute your own ideas as well, we have excellent systems in place and you should take time to learn and adopt these systems. Our ideal candidate will have several years of experience cooking in a restaurant setting, but we are also able to train someone with less experience as long as you are willing to put in the work to learn. 

Nick hopes to grow and diversify the business so there is potential for the correct candidate to grow into a Sous Chef position in 1-2 years. 

Responsibilities:
-Set up, work, break down a station each day
-Assist others in set up tasks as needed
-Daily production
-Cures & fermentations
-Prepare family meal

Compensation Details

Compensation: Hourly ($20.00 - $24.00) plus tips

Although she has a particular weakness for Nebbiolo in all shapes and forms, she endeavors to fill the list with representation from across Italy. The list is filled with a wide range of price points, but all in excellent quality.
