TenGoku Aburiya is one of the hottest Izakaya-style restaurants in Chicago, sister restaurant of Michelin recognized, Omakase Yume. We aim to create a welcoming environment serving a wide variety of drinks and small dishes to enjoy in our space. We are looking for Front of House staff that are excited to learn about Japanese cuisine and the art of hospitality.
TenGoku is currently searching for a Front of House staff to be a part of the operations for our lunch and dinner service. We are seeking enthusiastic, attentive, and team-oriented individuals to join our Front of House team. Whether you're an experienced server or looking to grow into hospitality through bussing and support roles, we welcome passionate candidates who are eager to be part of a service-driven team. Your attentiveness, knowledge, and passion for hospitality will contribute significantly to TenGoku's success.
What we are looking for:
- Previous restaurant or hospitality experience is preferred, but not required
- A warm, guest-first attitude with strong communication skills
- Ability to work well in a team environment and support all FOH functions
- Interest in Japanese cuisine and culture is a plus
- Punctuality, professionalism, and a positive attitude are a must
Qualified candidates MUST possess:
- Previous experience as a server in a fast-paced restaurant is preferred.
- Passion for providing outstanding customer service.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with guests.
-Knowledge of our food and drink menu (ingredients, taste, pairings, dietary restrictions, etc).
- Attention to detail, efficiency, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to move, carry, lift up to at least 35 pounds.
