Chef de Cuisine – Starting at $25/hour, Based on Experience
Location: Downtown Brooklyn, NYC (Commercial Kitchen Space)
Compensation: $25+ per hour, commensurate with experience
We are a rapidly growing meal delivery service based in New York City, currently seeking a dedicated and proactive Chef de Cuisine to support our Culinary Director with day-to-day kitchen operations, food preparation, and inventory management. This is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about food and eager to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
As a startup, we are building our Opening Team - looking for dedicated self-starters who not only work independently but who take initiative to improve their skillset on a daily basis. You'll have a huge opportunity to grow with the team and company as a whole.
Key Responsibilities:
- Work alongside the Culinary Director regarding overall kitchen operations, including inventory control, ordering, and managing supplier relationships
- Support staff management efforts, including hiring, training, and supervising kitchen team members
- Maintain high standards for food quality and safety, with a strong emphasis on allergen management
- Manage individual stations with a high degree of organization and initiative
Qualifications:
- Prior experience with menu planning is a plus
- Availability Wednesday through Sunday for 8+ hour shifts
- Required 4 years experience in a similar position
- Required1 year leadership experience
- Valid NYC Food Handler's Card required
