Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Assistant General Manager with a strong focus on kitchen operations to join our team at Stretch Pizza Domino. The AGM will work closely with the General Manager to oversee all aspects of the restaurant, with a primary responsibility for managing the kitchen operations, ensuring food quality & SOP’s, maintaining operational efficiency, and upholding the highest standards of food safety and sanitation. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for pizza, excellent leadership skills, and a proven track record of success in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Kitchen Management:
    • Manage and supervise all kitchen staff, including pizza cooks, prep cooks, Porters.
    • Oversee all aspects of food preparation, cooking, and presentation, ensuring adherence to recipes, quality standards, and portion control.
    • Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen environment, adhering to all health and safety regulations.
    • Monitor and control food costs, waste control, and optimize inventory levels.
    •  Work with GM to Schedule kitchen staff to ensure adequate coverage for all shifts.
    • Train and develop kitchen staff, providing ongoing coaching and feedback.
    • Ensure the proper functioning and maintenance of all kitchen equipment.
    • Implement and enforce food safety and sanitation procedures, including proper food handling, storage, and preparation techniques.
  • Operational Support:
    • Assist the General Manager in the overall management of the restaurant, including front-of-house operations.
    • Ensure a positive guest experience by maintaining high standards of food quality, service, cleanliness & strong customer hospitality.
    • Assist with inventory management, ordering, and receiving of food and supplies.
    • Handle customer inquiries and resolve any complaints or issues.
    • Assist with staff scheduling, training, and performance management.
    • Ensure compliance with all company policies, procedures, and standards.
    • Monitor and maintain restaurant cleanliness and appearance.
    • Assist with cash handling, opening/closing procedures, and other administrative tasks as needed.
  • Leadership and Teamwork:
    • Provide leadership and direction to all restaurant staff, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
    • Communicate effectively with all team members, ensuring clear understanding of expectations and goals.
    • Work collaboratively with the General Manager and other team members to achieve restaurant objectives.
    • Motivate and inspire staff to provide exceptional customer service and maintain high standards of performance.
    • Address employee issues and concerns in a timely and professional manner.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 1-3 years of experience as a Kitchen Manager, Sous Chef, or AGM in a high-volume restaurant, preferably a pizza-focused establishment.
  • Strong knowledge of pizza preparation techniques, including dough handling, topping selection, and oven operation.
  • Proven ability to manage and supervise kitchen staff effectively.
  • Strong organisational, time-management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Obtain or have Food Handler License within first 30 Days required.
  • Ability to work efficiently and accurately under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Basic computer skills, including experience with POS systems and inventory management software.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; culinary degree or equivalent experience is a plus.
