As a Busser at Chicago Waffles, you play a vital support role in maintaining a clean, organized, and welcoming environment for our guests. Your quick and efficient work ensures that tables are cleared, reset, and ready for the next party, while also assisting servers and hosts to keep service running smoothly. The ideal candidate is energetic, observant, and a reliable team player who thrives in a busy restaurant setting.

Key Responsibilities:

Cleanliness & Table Turnover:

• Clear used dishes, glassware, utensils, and trash from tables promptly.

• Wipe down and reset tables according to restaurant standards.

• Ensure table condiments and settings are clean and replenished as needed.

• Sweep floors and maintain cleanliness in dining, patio, and waiting areas.

Guest Support:

• Assist servers with water refills, bread/butter service, and guest requests.

• Remove plates and glassware between courses discreetly and politely.

• Respond quickly to spills and clean up messes in guest areas.

Team Collaboration:

• Communicate table status with hosts and servers.

• Support hosts in seating guests and managing waitlist if needed.

• Help deliver food and beverages when necessary.

• Restock side stations with napkins, silverware, glassware, and supplies.

Qualifications:

Essential:

• Positive attitude and willingness to help wherever needed.

• Ability to move quickly and stay focused in a fast-paced environment.

• Strong attention to cleanliness and detail.

• Reliable, punctual, and team-oriented.

Desirable:

• Previous experience as a busser or in a fast-paced restaurant.

• Food Handler Certification (required before completion of training).

• High school diploma or equivalent.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand and walk for long periods during a shift.

• Capable of lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs.

• Comfortable bending, reaching, and performing repetitive motions.

Essential Job Functions:

• Uphold and follow all Chicago Waffles policies and procedures.

• Maintain cleanliness of tables, floors, restrooms, and guest areas.

• Perform all assigned opening, mid-shift, and closing duties.

• Restock service stations and maintain cleanliness throughout shift.

Secondary Job Functions:

• Assist servers, hosts, and kitchen team as needed.

• Participate in training sessions, cleaning days, and staff meetings.
