As a Hostess at Chicago Waffles, you are the first and last impression for every guest. Your warm welcome, organized seating, and attentive service set the tone for a memorable dining experience. The ideal candidate is friendly, well-spoken, and thrives in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. You ensure that each guest feels acknowledged, informed, and appreciated from arrival to departure.
Key Responsibilities:
Guest Experience & Hospitality:

Greet all guests promptly and warmly upon arrival.

Manage waitlists and reservations using a digital or written system.

Provide accurate wait times and maintain clear communication with guests.

Escort guests to tables, distribute menus, and inform them of any specials.

Handle guest inquiries, concerns, and special requests with professionalism and care.
Organization & Flow Management:

Coordinate seating to ensure efficient server rotation and table usage.

Monitor dining room flow and communicate table statuses with servers and bussers.
-
Update hosts, servers, and management on party sizes, large groups, or special arrangements.

Assist with to-go order handoffs and phone inquiries when needed.
Cleanliness & Appearance:

Keep the host stand and entrance area clean and organized at all times.

Ensure menus and promotional materials are neat, clean, and up to date.

Maintain a polished and professional appearance that reflects the Chicago Waffles brand.
Qualifications:
Essential:

Friendly, positive attitude with excellent interpersonal skills.

Strong organizational and multitasking ability.

Clear communication in high-volume, fast-paced settings.
-
Dependable, punctual, and team-oriented.
Desirable:

Previous experience as a hostess or in a guest-facing restaurant role.

Familiarity with waitlist apps and reservation systems.

High school diploma or equivalent.
Physical Requirements:

Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.

Comfortable working on feet during busy shifts.

Capability to lift up to 25 lbs occasionally.
Essential Job Functions:

Follow all Chicago Waffles policies and procedures.

Maintain knowledge of seating chart, floor plan, and server sections.

Perform all assigned opening, mid-shift, and closing duties.

Assist in managing customer flow during peak hours.
Secondary Job Functions:
