We're a close-knit team and are looking for a Floor Captain to help lead the front-of-house with confidence and care — someone who thrives in both service and operational detail.
Position Overview:
The Floor Captain serves as a service lead with maître d’-level responsibilities, supporting the flow of daily or nightly service while also stepping into key operational duties. This includes guest communication, staff support, and assuming General Manager responsibilities on occasion when the GM is off-site.
Key Responsibilities:

Greet and seat guests while managing the flow of reservations and walk-ins

Act as point person during service, ensuring smooth communication between the kitchen, bar, and floor

Oversee the host team and manage the floor plan using the reservation system

Maintain communication with the kitchen and bar to ensure timely and accurate service

Compile a running order list on shifts inventory is low

Monitor and respond to public guest reviews on platforms like Google, Yelp, and Resy

Handle closing duties in the absence of the GM, including:

Reconciling nightly cash and credit card totals

Overseeing staff checkouts and side work sign-off

Confirming employee timesheets for accurate punch-in and clock-out times

Creating a detailed manager log in Toast that includes shift notes, accounting, and operational updates

Locking the venue and securing liquor and wine storage rooms
Requirements:

2+ years of experience in a floor lead, maître d’, or supervisory hospitality role
- Experience in a captain / management position
- Previous server experience required
- Expo experience is a plus

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Familiarity with POS systems (Toast preferred) and guest management platforms (RESY)

Organized, calm under pressure, and team-oriented

Availability for nights, weekends, and holidays

Interest in or knowledge of Japanese cuisine and service style is a plus
