Entre Nous is a new 55-seat wine bar in the heart of Clinton Hill that opened in December 2024 from the team behind Fradei Bistro. Inspired by our favorite wine bars in Paris, we offer a robust wine list alongside a menu of classic French small plates, chilled seafood, and cheese & charcuterie. Open 6 days a week, Tuesday through Sunday.
We are seeking an Executive Sous Chef to lead day-to-day operations of our kitchen team. You will work in tandem with the Executive Chef to develop dishes (this role does involve creative culinary input), maintain daily systems and processes, and set the standard for organization and cleanliness. This is a management position, overseeing a team of 6-7 line cooks, prep cooks and dishwashers.
The ideal candidate must have:
- 3+ years experience cooking in a fast-paced restaurant in a major city, including 1+ year of management experience (i.e. in a Sous Chef role)
- Full mastery of knife skills and classic cooking techniques, and the ability to coach line cooks in these areas
- Knowledge of classic French cuisine
- The ability to expo a busy service while overseeing every line cook’s station, ensuring proper organization, cleanliness and the highest standards of quality
- The ability to handle day-to-day ordering, review prep lists and delegate responsibilities among line cooks and dishwashers
- Knowledge of how to maintain kitchen cleanliness at or above NYC DOH standards
- Experience building team schedules
- Strong communication and delegation skills
- A positive, solutions-oriented attitude, and a desire to learn and grow
Compensation: Salaried at $70-75K annually
