Two doors down from Barbuto, the new spot is an intimate, wine-centric restaurant showcasing an elevated seasonal menu, extensive wine list, and classic cocktails.
Opening restaurant hours will be Tuesday-Saturday 4 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Located in the West Village, Barbuto is a bustling restaurant serving California-inspired Italian dishes to a neighborhood clientele as well as visitors from around the world. Opened in 2004 by Chef Jonathan Waxman, the easy going atmosphere and technical approach to cooking have made Barbuto a staple of the New York restaurant scene.
Responsibilities include:
- Ideally looking for a candidate with a solid foundation of knowledge/training in both wine and cocktails. (2 years experience)
- Must be very organized, clean, and tidy.
- Must be personable, friendly, attentive, and hospitality focused. We have many many long-standing regulars who will be excited to meet you!
- Knowledge of toast is a plus but not required
- Punctuality and responsibility for scheduled shifts.
- This is a pooled restaurant, so honesty and transparency, and teamwork is an absolute must.
- Food Handlers card is preferred but not immediately required.

Compensation Details
Compensation: Hourly ($16.50) plus tips

The West Village restaurant Barbuto has been a neighborhood gathering spot welcoming locals and visitors alike for over 15 years. Barbuto first opened its doors in February 2004 in its original location at Washington & Jane Streets, where it was truly a staple. After reopening in October 2021, the restaurant is well on its way to earning that status again in its new home at 113 Horatio Street at West Street, a mere three hundred steps from the original.
The name means “bearded” in Italian. When developing the concept, Jonathan and his business partner at the time Fabrizio Ferri both sported beards; so did Fabrizio’s Irish Wolfhound Gideon, who is immortalized in the logo. It just made sense.
