ABOUT SAWA

We are looking for full time and part time servers for Dinner Service: with experience in fine dining service and high volume.
We’re seeking talented staff with a minimum of 2 years experience in NYC casual fine dining to join our front of house team and help us foster a positive dining experience for our guests. We hope to find candidates with a good attitude who are ready to work hard in a positive, welcoming environment for both the team and guests.
Flexible schedule and ability to work weekends and Holidays
Dinner Shift from 3:30pm to 11pm, Wednesday to Sunday.
General requirements and responsibilities
- A minimum of 2 years of NY restaurant experience
- Taking orders and answering guests’ questions; being able to speak confidently and knowledgeably about our menu and the restaurant at large
- Communicating dietary requirements or restrictions to Floor Manager and kitchen
- Communicating any issues with guests or particular tables to Floor Manager
- Responsibly handling cash and credit card transactions
- Setting and bussing tables; maintaining a clean, organized section and dining room at all times
- Maintaining a visibly calm demeanor and excellence of work at all times regardless of the pace of service
- Opening and closing side work as assigned by Floor Manger
- Deep cleaning or organization with kitchen team as directed by Executive Chef and Floor Manager
- Learn and follow all Department of Health (DOH) guidelines
Team Expectations
- Adhere to the schedule created by the Floor Manager; arrive on time and with a neat, clean appearance
- Be organized; take notes
- Be courteous, professional, and kind to guests and employees alike
- Be a proactive self-starter with a keen eye for details and ability to multitask
- Be open to feedback and notes for improvement
- Communicate responsibly
