JOB DESCRIPTION HOST
Welcomes guests into the restaurant with a clear and friendly voice and a smile. Greets and seats each guest using HOSPITALITY and GRACIOUSNESS in guest interactions. Takes reservations in a manner befitting the restaurant and plans the evening to provide optimal service for our guests while maintaining energy in the restaurant and maximizing covers. Performs duties in a pleasant, conscientious, fun, energetic, and professional manner to ensure guest satisfaction.
Host Principal Duties:
- PRIORITY #1: ENGAGES AND CONNECTS WITH GUESTS. ALWAYS EXCEEDS EXPECTATIONS.
- PRIORITY #2: Having complete knowledge of products and specifications.
- Exhibits Cindy’s and Boka service standard on a consistent basis.
- Knows and uses service guidelines outlined in this manual.
- Beats the Greet with all guests promptly as they enter the restaurant, making a positive first impression. Greets guests warmly with a smile, making eye contact.
- Obtains the guests’ name when possible and (if known) uses the guests’ name at all times. Knows and acknowledges all VIPs by name or alias.
- Promotes the company’s high level of service standards by exhibiting friendliness, knowledge of the restaurant, and attentiveness to guests’ needs.
- Answers phones, keeps accurate count of reservations, and manages the reservation book.
- Collects and stores menus. Ensures that all menus are clean and presentable, that they have proper inserts and are current according to the most recent changes. Replaces all menus in poor condition after confirming that replacements are available.
- Maintains an ample supply of backup menus.
- Check Coats and bags.
- Maintain an orderly line downstairs as needed per business levels.
- Has complete knowledge of the floor plan, table numbers, and stations, including available seats at the bar.
- Monitors which tables are in use, available, and about to turn over. Is immediately aware when tables are reset and ready for guests. Checks for completeness of table settings.
- Frequently checks back with guests who are waiting in the bar area to be seated. Assures guests that they have not been forgotten and that tables are being prepared for them.
- Assists service staff by answering any questions guests may have regarding the restaurant.
- When a guest is leaving, always thank them by name and uses a positive parting remark.
- Performs assigned side duties.
- Maintains a neat and orderly host area. Constantly ensures that the entrance to the restaurant is clean.
- Communicates the needs of the guests to the kitchen and management. Informs management of guests’ reactions and comments. Assists management as needed to ensure smooth operation and quality service.
- Helps promote a safe and clean environment for co-workers and guests. Understands that the cleanliness of the restaurant is the responsibility of every employee, regardless of position or department.
- Operates as a member of a team, helping others and requesting help as needed and communicating all guest needs to the appropriate team member to ensure guests’ satisfaction.
- Performs other restaurant duties as requested by management.
- Hosts will never point guests to an area but will direct them and engage with guests as much as possible.

- Observe opening, closing, and weekly sidework checklists
Host Daily Checklist:
Report for work at your scheduled time. Clock in on designated time clock.
You are responsible for the neatness, cleanliness and appearance of your uniform. You are an important part of the image.
Hair, make-up, and personal hygiene preparations should be complete before punching in and commencing work. Arrive at an appropriate time so that these preparations are completed before the start of your shift.

Physical Requirements
- Lift and move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Safely and effectively use all necessary tools and equipment
- Stand and walk for an entire shift, including moving safely through all areas of the restaurant, which may include stairs, uneven and slick surfaces

Compensation Details
Compensation: Hourly ($21.75)
